We’ve made it to Wednesday once again – Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I wanted to share with you one of my more exotic snack recipes: Cinnamon Stuffed Peaches.
I tried this recipe for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious it turned out. There are only four ingredients needed (and you know I love easy recipes), but the flavors are fun and SO different from the snacks I typically eat.
I love finding new ways to mix up my diet, so I plan to keep adding Cinnamon Stuffed Peaches to the snack rotation in the future. I cannot wait to hear what you all think!
Trust me on the Ricotta LOL
I will be honest with you – I specifically titled this recipe “Cinnamon” Stuffed Peaches rather than “Ricotta” Stuffed Peaches because I know that many of you wouldn’t have clicked on this recipe otherwise (blogging is an art). Listen up – I recognize that your gut reaction to ricotta stuffed peaches may not be overwhelmingly positive. Mine wasn’t either.
BUT, just like how your parents made you try things when you were little for “your own good”… I am doing the same. This recipe may just change your entire perception of ricotta cheese. Give it ONE little chance. I know it sounds odd but this substitution is 100% worth the try.
SKINNY GIRL PEACH COBBLER
The beautiful part about this recipe is that these Cinnamon Stuffed Peaches are a healthy snack that tastes like a dessert. Similar to the way my Pepita PB Apple Bites remind me of apple crumble, these peaches taste similar to a healthy peach cobbler.
The baked peach almost melts in your mouth and the walnuts give the recipe the “crumble” similar to that of traditional cobbler. Between these two textures and the cinnamon… mmm. The flavor is great and, best of all, it’s also guilt-free.
ust look at the comparison between the nutrition information for traditional peach cobbler versus my Cinnamon Stuffed Peaches. I love peach cobbler, but this was enough to help me find a healthy substitute I could snack on:
Cinnamon Stuffed Peaches
(one serving of my recipe)
- 155 calories
- 7 g fat (0 g trans fats)
- 20 g carbs
- 12 g sugar (0 added sugar)
- 8 g
Normal Slice of Peach Cobbler
(roughly 1/12 of a pie)
- 500 calories
- 18 g fat (4 g trans fats)
- 80 g carbs
- 34 g sugar
- 4 g protein
(Realistically who eats 1/12 a pie? Prob more like ¼ of the pie TBH 😂, but we’ll be conservative)
^ These numbers are insane! Apart from this recipe having 25% of the carbs found in normal peach cobbler, it has double the protein, and no added sugar or trans fats.
I love finding healthy snack alternatives to my favorite desserts, so I was seriously excited when this recipe came together and worked so well! I hope you guys are courageous enough to give the ricotta a try and make this snack recipe this week!
As always, whenever you give one of my recipes a try, I love to hear feedback :). Tag @madeby.moni on instagram and I will repost!
Have an amazing rest of your week everyone!
