Equipment

  • food processor
  • Baking Sheet
  • Plastic Sandwich Bags

Ingredients

  • 1 box Double Stuf Oreos (family size box 1 lb 4 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 11 oz white baking chips (I always buy extra in case!)
  • red and blue food coloring (OPTIONAL 4TH OF JULY)

Instructions

Make Oreo Dough

  • In a food processor, combine oreo balls and cream cheese. Blend together until smooth.

Scoop Oreo Dough

  • Using a cookie scoop (or a tablespoon measurer), scoop the dough into uniform balls.
  • Lay out the balls on a lined baking sheet and put into the freezer for 20-30 minutes.

Melt Chocolate

  • Using a double boiler, melt the white chocolate with a little bit of vegetable oil. (the vegetable oil keeps the chocolate from seizing and makes coating a little easier).
  • OPTIONAL: For 4th of July speckled Oreo Balls, add in the food coloring and stir slowly until speckled with red and blue.
  • Spoon the chocolate into a plastic sandwich bag.

Coat Oreo Balls with Chocolate

  • Remove the tray of Oreo Balls from the freezer.
  • Snip the tip of the sandwich bag and pipe the chocolate onto each Oreo Ball.
  • Return to the freezer for another 20-30 minutes.
